Directions for Use - Gallon Paws and Claws Spray.
Dr. Ben's all natural cedar oil based spray formula treats dogs without the use of harsh chemicals.
How to treat your pet directly with cedar oil for periodic flea, tick and mite control:
Spray a liberal amount directly on your pet including paws, legs, pits, groin, belly, neck, back, tail and rectum area. Always avoid contact of the solution with your pets eyes. For facial application to pets, spray product on hands and rub onto areas of the face that you wish to protect. Many pet owners apply a quick spray treatment before taking pets out for a walk or when pets are returning to the home environment after being out anywhere. Can also be applied to pet bedding areas or to any type of pet housing. Use as often as necessary. No chemicals here. Cedar oil is the only active ingredient. (As with any product, test on a small inconspicuous area of pet bedding or pet gear before full use to avoid unanticipated results.)
1st time use of Paws and Claws.
A procedure for 1st use that is especially useful when caring for cats but is good idea for dogs too. Since pet owners have reported a rare phenomenon that seems to suggest some pets have a particular sensitivity to cedar oil. As a precaution we have prepared the following suggestions for first use of Paws and Claws. The idea is to gradually treat your pet(s) in sections starting from lower areas and working up until your pet is fully treated. Sections you might consider (listed in order):
Allow a bit of time between sections to observe your pet's behavior. It's normal for a pet to groom by licking the formula off. Ingestion of the solution is not cause for alarm. Anecdotal evidence suggests that cedar oil may cause some loose stool as a result or at worst your pet may develop an upset stomach. A few pet owners have reported noticing a lethargic appearance in their pet followed by some regurgitation. Cat owners in particular have reported more susceptibility to this. If your pet appears lethargic or regurgitates after treatment, rinse the formula thoroughly from applied areas. Make sure your pet has plenty of fresh water available to drink. Future applications are up to the individual pet owner. You know your pet best!
If you suspect a recurring source of fleas, ticks or mites may be originating from your pet's periodic outdoor activities, be sure to check the outdoor products listings for cedar oil insect control recommendations that are designed specifically for outdoor use.
